A Word of Welcome from the Founder

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Emmaus School of Theology.

Our school places emphasis on helping students discover the riches of God’s Word, developing faith and acquiring confidence in spreading the gospel.

As the world in the 21st century continues to evolve into one big village, slowly and inescapably the Church is being drawn into the crucible of modern philosophies. But the Church is by God’s design the foundation of all truth, and I believe that your time at ESOT will provide you with a platform to shape your thinking and your response to these philosophies.

This is our aim at the Emmaus School of Theology. We want to bring you to Jesus, and I assure you that the faculty will work with you and for you, in order to strive for excellence in preparing you for the path you have chosen.

Whether you are training for church-based ministry, missions or ‘market-place’ ministry, this is the right place to be, as we bring faith and context together, dissect and analyse the realities of life and explore questions related to spirituality, beliefs and faith practices.

We have a core of quality teachers with a wealthy background of experience in ministry and Christian education. Our lecturers are qualified as Scholars, Ministers, Pastors, Teachers, Missionaries or Evangelists as well as biblically sound, Christian professionals and business people. There are also regular visiting local and international ministers.

Alex Phiri

Founder and Principal

Alex Phiri has proven his calling in over two decades of service to God in full-time ministry as Youth Pastor, an Associate Pastor and Christian Educator with Bible Colleges and Seminaries. He has also travelled extensively as a sought-after Conference speaker. As a Christian Educator, Alex has served as the Academic Dean of Milton Keynes Bible College, a Campus Director for Life Christian University and adjunct faculty of Logos University Europe. He has a Bachelor of Theology from the International College of Excellence, a Master of Arts in Theology and a Doctorate in Ministry and Theology from Life Christian University.

Dr Phiri is also a leadership consultant and sits as Chairman on the Board of Trustees for a several Christian organisations and educational institutions. Alex is the founder and lead Pastor of River of Life Community Church, a multi-cultural gathering of believers based in Sheffield. He is married to Matilda, co-founder of RLCC. They make their home in Sheffield, UK.

Trevor Hill

College Chaplain

Pastor Trevor Hill serves as College Chaplain for Emmaus School of Theology. He is an ordained minister, becoming Associate Pastor of River of Life Community Church eight years ago. For over thirty years Pastor Trevor Hill has served God in various leadership roles and brings the wealth of experience gained, to the school. Together with Pastor Trevor's forty plus year engineering background, which gives him creative and strong problem solving skills, he has the desire and ability to co-operate with team workers in order to succeed as a unit. Together with his wife Anne, he is in his third year of Emmaus Bible college, having successfully completed the first two years.

Anderson Moyo

Member of Academic Board

Anderson Moyo is the Senior Leader of Sheffield Community Church, a growing multi-ethnic church which he and his wife planted over a decade ago. Anderson also oversees Faith Ministries UK, an emerging family of churches joined together by their DNA of transformational servant leadership, missional discipleship and multiethnic model to ministry.

He is a Faith Advisor in Sheffield Hallam University and a Tutor in Kings School of Theology (Salt & Light Ministries UK). Anderson holds postgraduate degrees in Leadership and Management (MA), and Organisational Change and Consultancy (MSc), and a Doctor of Ministry (Diasporic Missiology) from Asbury Theological Seminary (Kentucky, USA). He is happily married to Lydia and they have three children.

Solomon Brobbey

Academic Dean

Solomon Brobbey is a multi-faceted Christian Education Professional with specialisation in Media Studies, Theology and Personal Training and Development. His Academic Experience covers various Faculty roles in Milton Keynes Bible College in collaboration with Charis Bible College, International College of Excellence and Life Christian University.

He is a consultant in Corporate Training and Development with Chriddos Apex and Law and Development Associates Ltd.

Anne Hill

College Administrator

Anne held a senior nursing role in the NHS for over 40 years, finishing her career in the NHS by working as an Information Manager in IT/Disease Data Management for Primary Care. Anne and her husband, Trevor, have served in church leadership roles for over 25 years before becoming part of the leadership of River of Life Community Church where Trevor serves as associate pastor and Anne serves as church administrator and Trustee.
